Girl sleeping comfortablyI always find that I am the most productive in the morning 4-5 hours after waking up. After that, my productivity continuously drops until towards the end of the day, I can get nothing useful done. This is true for most people I have talked with and I am willing to bet that it is true for you as well. The trick to being productive is then to get a good night’s sleep. Here are a few ways to maximizing your chances of sleeping well tonight.

First, make sure that you go to bed early and that you always go to bed at a regular time. Make sure to avoid eating a very late dinner especially within a couple of hours of going to bed. I find it impossible to sleep after eating a heavy dinner. Also, stay away from any caffeinated drinks including coffee, coke, and tea. In fact, I will never drink a coffee past 3:00pm on any given day or I can’t get myself to fall asleep before midnight.

Exercising late in the evening might also help. Some people claim that exercising in the evening helps them sleep better. I find that exercising in the evening gets me all excited which keeps me up longer at night. You might have to trial this to figure out what best works for you.

Lastly, there is no denying that you can only sleep well on a comfortable bed.
