The US government’s 700 billion dollar bail-out of the country’s financial institutions had little effect in the markets which continued to move down in the last day of trading this week. You’d think that this would prevent people from wasting money on things like cars but I guess it isn’t. If you decide to buy a car in this terrible economy (an it is going to get even worse before it gets better,) then do your research and get the best car you can afford.
For example, try to find the smallest car that will fill your driving needs. Look for a car that is fuel efficient as it doesn’t look like gas prices will go down any time soon or ever again. Check car review magazines and web sites to find cheap cars that are both reliable and safe. Do your research on insurance. Request auto insurance quotes from as many different sources as possible and select the one that provides adequate coverage for the least amount of money.
If you decide to buy a car in an economy that is heading towards a depression, then at least minimize the harm it will do to your finances by doing your research before making your final decision.
