Contact lenses and eyeglasses

A couple of years ago, I started wearing contact lenses. The truth is that my vision started to deteriorate when I was 16 years old but I never bothered to do anything about it until I was 30. My vision was only a bit blurry and my optometrist suggested that wearing glasses might actually make things worse over time. I managed fine without corrective eyeglasses for the longest time but it was no longer possible. The main issue was driving my car. Even though I was able to obtain my driver’s license without the need for glasses eventually it became obvious that I needed them, especially when driving at night or in poor weather conditions.

It made a huge difference when I put on my first pair of contacts and drove for the first time I could see the smallest detail all around. It was like discovering a new world.

Now I have to move from wearing contact lenses to eyeglasses. The reason being that the contacts start to irritate my eyes if I wear them for long periods of time during the day. I like my contacts better than the eyeglasses but I have to admit that the latter are a bit more convenient. It takes more effort to put on my contacts if I need them only for a few minutes whereas. I still use the contacts for when doing sports or when I go out partying with friends.
