Do you find that your computer is running slower than it used to? Do you want to make it run faster without spending a fortune to upgrade to a new system? If you answered yes to both of these questions then keep reading because I will now teach you a simple trick to get more life out of your current computer without spending a fortune on new upgrades.
The easiest way to get a couple of years out of life out of your current computer system is to buy more memory. The reason your computer feels slower has to a large degree have to do with two things. One is that you are working with larger files than you used to. The other is that many of the newer applications released since you made your computer purchase have higher resource requirements even thought the minimum requirements are within your machine’s specifications. If you bought your computer with Microsoft XP operating system but you recently upgraded to the company’s newer Vista offering and your system runs slower then one of the best things to do is buy more RAM. This has been a well known trick since the early days of computing. RAM is the kind of memory that can be accessed much faster from your computer’s CPU (compared to reading data from your Hard Drive for example) and as such it goes a long way if you have lots of it. And don’t despair about the cost. These days, system memory has dropped in price to the level than 1GB (1 billion bytes) can be purchased for much less than $100 (probably less than $50 if you find a good deal online.)
Buying more memory for your computer is an excellent and very affordable method to easily get 1 or 2 more years of life out of your trusty machine. Alternatively, you can spend several hundred dollars to buy a new computer but why do that if you can continue using your current one for much less?
