Escaping from work takes a lot of planning

I was told this many times before from friends who entered the workforce after finishing school and I honestly didn’t believe it. Until now! When you are in school, you have lots of freedom to spend your days as you wish. Sure, you have some constraints because you have to go to class, study and write exams but the whole world will not fall apart if you skip classes for a day or two because you wanted to go on a ski trip with your friends.
Once you start working full time, it all changes. Now, you have to be at work every day and you can only escape for those 2 weeks (if you are lucky) every year. And considering that these few days of vacation time are so important to you, deciding where to go is also a huge deal. It take a lot of planning both to find a place you want to visit and also to find a good deal so that you don’t overspend yourself (all of a sudden money has a lot more value because you have to work harder for them.) So, on a weekly basis, I find myself checking for any good vacation offers, cheap airline tickets, hotel specials, and cruise deals.
I never realized it was going to be like this but it is. And whether you believe me or not, it will happen to you.
