Living in style

I was saying the other day about how I take care of the furniture situation when I relocate to a new city, an event that I have experienced a good 3 times in the last 12 years. For my latest move coming up in less than 2 months, my plan is to live lean. What do I mean?
The idea is to buy only the things that I need for my day to day living. Basically, anything that I won’t be using at least once a week and for more than one hour, I won’t buy it. This is how junk accumulates in people’s homes. But living lean doesn’t mean that I’ll be living in a dump. I intend to buy a few useful things but also quality. I want to enjoy my living space. I would like to have a nice dinner table and desk. Also, the small touches make a huge difference. For example, just having a nice set of door handles (such as the ones sold by the Baldwin hardware store) or just a set of stylish bathroom accessories can make an apartment look stylish and yet very affordable.
Have you ever noticed that rich and wealthy people seem to also own fewer things? They prefer quality over quantity. I may not be rich by any definition of the word, but after year of accumulating junk, I think that I am ready for a change.
