Romney calls it quits

Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney called it quits today after getting stomped by John McCain on Super Tuesday. Romney said,
I must now stand aside, for our party and our country.
Considering that John McCain was the only other candidate with any hopes of winning this Republican spot, Romeny’s decision to put an end to his campaign essentially gives him the nominate. In fact, Romney has expressed his support for McCain now that he is out of the race. On the other hand, Internet favorite Ron Paul is way behind in the polls to present any kind of competition to McCain. Third place Mike Huckabee is also too far behind to be considered a worth opponent at this stage.
The democratic race has yet to be decided as Obama and Clinton are enjoying a split in voter interest. After Super Tuesday, Clinton maintains a small lead over Obama but it looks likes this race will be decided at the very end as I am certain both candidates still have an ace up their sleeves and waiting to play it before it is all over for their campaign. Honestly, Obama as President probably makes more sense than both Clinton and McCain but I don’t live in the US so I will just watch the race continue from the sidelines.
