A vacation in Vancouver, Canada

I love to travel. It is always intriguing to visit a new place and learn about its history, its people and their way of life. One of the places worth visiting is Vancouver, one of Canada’s largest cities. There are many affordable flights to Canada so this should be no excuse to miss out on visiting this wonderful country.

There are many things to do in Vancouver whether you visit in the winter or summer time. The city offers an amazing urban environment with easy access to outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy an art exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery or catch a movie at the IMAX theater at Canada Place. Two great places to visit, especially if you have kids, are the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and Science World. You can also enjoy great views of the city and the North Shore mountains from the Vancouver Lookout at Harbour Center downtown. Do your shopping at the trendy Robson street or the Pacific Centre mall located right in the hurt of downtown close to a number of hotels. Stroll down to Granville street later at night and enjoy a drink and some dancing at the many bars and clubs spread out all along the street.

For those who like winter sports then a visit to the two local mountains Grouse and Cypress for skiing and snowboarding is a must. Or you can take a short drive to Whistler and enjoy skiing at one of the best ski resorts in the World. Whistler will also be hosting a large number of events for the 2010 Winter Olympics that will take place in Vancouver. Given the chance, don’t miss out on visiting one of the most beautiful cities in Canada (and possibly the world.)
