Would somebody please give this man an Oscar

Normally, my concern for the an industry which “slaps each other on the back” to acknowledge the work they have done really doesn’t rise to the level of me being interested. But there has already been one injustice and another one I feel is coming. So my two cents. The first injustice, I don’t know about you but when Leonardo Dicaprio continues to be in good movies, with good actors, and great directors at some point some of that has to rub off on the person. What does he have to do win an Oscar. Nevermind his performance in the Aviator, in Gangs of New York and the Departed, but I don’t think it could be any better in Blood Diamond, and yet still nothing, perhaps because he is young there is plenty of time, but how many times do actors finally get the nod for their “not best” performance? Can anyone say Paul Newman, and yes Clint Eastwood. Enough!, give the award for when they deserve it.
The second injustice is Daniel Day Lewis, admittedly, he does not make a lot of films but again what does he have to do? Speaking of Gangs of New York-he was in that also, great performance, yes Daniel Day Lewis does have an Oscar but in this age where two Oscars is no longer unreasonable to define the great actors-he should be in that category (of course notable exceptions to this rule are Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman-I mean Meryl Streep got hers), in his new film “There will be blood” he should win. If one is going by a body of work and a number of great performances which sometimes it appears the academy goes by then Daniel Day Lewis should be one of those blessed individuals.
