If you are following what is happening in the US political scene with respect to the upcoming 2008 elections and you happen to be a statistics freak, then check out Yahoo’s newly launched elections dashboard. The company is continuously compiling statistical data about the popularity of the Democratic and Republican candidates showing who’s leading each party according to the polls and also their popularity online using a count of search engine queries.
The dashboard also displays the amount of money raised by each candidate up to date. Interestingly, the Democratic candidates have managed to raise a lot more money than the Republicans. Hilary Clinton ($96 million) and Barack Obama ($80 million) each have received almost double the amount of contributions compared to the leading Republican Rudy Giuliani ($46 million.) Online favorite Ron Paul is climbing fast but is still way behind on the polls.
