Save an alien Facebook application

While SETI is scanning the sky for a signal emitted by an alien civilization, Web 2.0 startup SaveAnAlien.com wants to give you a chance to do the right thing and save a cute little alien from certain destruction. Apparently, aliens live happily on some remote planet but they are all about to be crushed by a meteor heading straight to them. At the time of this writing, there are 185 days left before the meteor brings doom to the alien population. There are 10 million such creatures in need of rescue. Here is where you come in. If you register on the website, you can adopt one of these cute aliens and care for him by relocating him to Antarctica; this area a geographic oddity because it will be spared the effect of the meteor’s impact.

A person can save one alien and then have some fun with him/her. The Save an Alien application is build for use with the popular Facebook social networking platform and you will need an account to use it. Once you have selected your new best friend, you can digital add him/her in your photos or get a t-shirt printed with him/her.
