Knowledge is power

We are so fucked, it is not even funny.

Many companies have been developing robots for use in the military but their role has always been confined to IED removal or reconnaissance. Foster-Miller has just introduced the Modular Advanced Armed Robotic System (MAARS) that carries an M240B Medium Machine Gun and it can fire on its own will. For the time being this scary type of robot is only operating in battle zones such as in IRAQ but I wonder how long it will be before the police begin using domestically as well. Maybe Cameron had it right when he wrote the script for Terminator. Luckily the military has enough of a brain to equip these machines with software the allows a remote operator to override the on board software. Familiarize yourself with MAARS in the video below because you may have to run away from it one day.
