iCache digital walletAre you getting tired of having to manage a dozen or so different cards made of plastic and cluttering your wallet? Are you always worried that someone will steal your credit card and use it to charge thousands of dollars of crap on it? I understand that in the end you can get your money back but who wants to have to deal with the Bank and wait months for them to figure out that it was a thief who made all those charges and not you.

Technology to the rescue!

The new iCache digital wallet uses fingerprint recognition and digital encryption to secure your credit card information while organizing all your cards together into one convenient, portable device. The company’s description of iCache is,

iCache is a small portable device housing a single card that can be used in place of any of the credit cards in your wallet. Icache is protected with a fingerprint reader to ensure that only you, the owner of the device, can activate it. Not only is iCache safe, it is also a far more convenient and intelligent way to manage your credit cards.

The iCache technology supports an card that has a magstripe including credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, ATM cards, loyalty cards, gas cards, gift cards etc.

The new technology sounds convenient and I am looking forward to having one. Unfortunately, it will not be available until 2008 in limited distribution at first. If the technology catches on with consumers then it will be more widely distributed. I’m curious to see how far this technology will go.
