Bottled water is nothing more than tap water!

Beverage companies are finally admitting that the bottled water they have been selling us is nothing more than re-filtered tap water. Pepsi which sells the Aquafina bottled water has announced that they will now more clearly mention in the product label the actual source of the water; it is filtered tap water, plain and simple.
And don’t think for a minute that they are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. Nope! Pepsi has been under lots of pressure by the Corporate Accountability International group to come clear about this issue. They have finally won a fight for consumer rights. They are also putting a lot of pressure on Coca Cola to come clean on their Dasani bottled water product which is also nothing more than overpriced tap water.
The best thing about this announcement is looking at the faces of people who have been swearing over the higher quality of their bottled water. Sucks to be them right now! It sucks even more to be one of those idiot Hollywood celebrities that seem to go nowhere without holding bottled water and drinking from it every second; is there a more obvious way of showing the world that you are a complete and total sell? If there is, then I am sure phony celebrities will find it but for now, their fixation with bottled water is the clear winner.
I wonder what impact this new label will have for sales of bottled water. I get the feeling that most people will completely ignore the fact that bottled water is just re-packaged tap water and continue to consume it under the belief that it is of higher quality compared to what they can get for free at home.
