The world’s oldest running car to be auctioned in August

According to this CNN article, the world’s oldest and still running automobile will be auctioned off this coming August. The four-wheeled, steam powered De Dion-Bouton et Trepardoux can reach a maximum speed of 38 miles per hour and it is powered by coal, wood and bits of paper; you have to wait 30 minutes before driving because this is how long it takes for the engine to generate enough steam to drive. The De Dion-Bouton was built in France the year 1884. The car had rear-wheel drive and front-wheel steering not to mention that it is also a race car and winner.
The auction will be held August 19th in Pebble Beach, California, and the De Dion-Bouton is expected to fetch a price between 1.5-2.0 million dollars. Only wealthy car aficionados need apply.
