Knowledge is power

The Police are back with a worldwide tour and a new compilation police cd. It has been 20 years since the last time that Sting, Andy Summers and Steward Copland shared a stage together. Now the 3-man rock band is back with a vengeance touring across North America and resurrecting memories of great rock music. After getting together to perform at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, the band kicked-off their comeback tour in Vancouver, Canada, last Wednesday. I was fortunate enough to attend this sold-out show at GM Place and I was not disappointed. The band delivered the same tunes that kept me rocking in the early eighties and it felt like they were never apart.

The group rocked the house as usual but it felt great when they sang Every Breath You Take which is by far my most favorite song. This time it was especially enjoyable considering that I was holding the hand of my beautiful girlfriend. She was never a fun of The Police but after Wednesday’s show, she has become one for life.

Most of the planned shows on the tour are already sold out but you might be able to find tickets by visiting the official police website, if you hurry. In the meantime, why not get your hands on the newest police cd featuring a compilation of the band’s best songs? The band’s next show is going to be on June 6th in Seattle’s Key Arena. The Police will start performing in Europe with a stop at Stockholm in late August.
