If you thought that you had to take a break from your favorite tunes to go for a swim then think again. Finis, based in Livermore, California, has developed the SwiMP3 waterproof mp3 player that will allow you to enjoy your favorite music during your underwater adventures. The SwiMP3 boasts some cutting edge technology that sends sound through your skull using a technique called bone conduction thus avoiding the muddy sound of traditional earbuds when placed underwater. The SwiMP3 is not cheap priced at a steep $249 apiece. The software interfaces with iTunes so that you can use everyone’s favorite online music store for purchasing songs. The player is compatible with MP3 and WMA media files and it has enough space for up to 60 songs; playtime is limited to 4 hours maximum but unless you are on the Titanic and you have to swim for your life, it is probably more than you will ever need. Finally, the SwiMP3 weighs only 2 ounces so it will not have a negative effect on your best lap time.
