Study says that adult obesity starts at an early age

An Australian study published in the most recent issue of the Medical Journal of Australia reports the results of a research project spanning more than 20 years showing that obesity during teenage years is likely to result in obesity in adults. Specifically, researchers tracked a sample of Australian children since 1985 when they aged 7-15 years old. The same teenagers are now 25-35 years old. According to the study, children that were overweight or obese end up 9 times more likely to be overweight later in their lives. In other words, take good care of your children teaching them how to eat well while encouraging them to have an active lifestyle. Enrolling your kids to extracurricular activities such as soccer and dancing is also a good way of keeping them active and away from TV and their computer or Playstation.
