Having fun with gas prices

These days, everyone is concerned with gas prices and how can they not when they continue to rise and take center stage on mass media? But don’t let the high prices get you down. AAA has released an interesting online tool that lets you calculate the cost of gas for any trip between two U.S. cities taking into account the car that you will be driving it. If you plan such a trip and want to minimize your fuel cost, then it might be wise to consult this tool to find the best car to rent. If you aren’t going to be traveling then it might just be fun to spend a few minutes with the tool to compare your trusty fuel efficient vehicle with your neighbor’s gas guzzlers.

For example, the fuel cost for a coast-to-coast round trip from San Francisco, California, to New York City, New York, would cost you $1,098 if you drive a 2007 Ferrari F430. The same trip with a Honda Civic Hybrid would cost you only $366 or $583 with a standard internal combustion engine. Sure, it is cheaper to drive a Civic across the country, but would you prefer it over a Ferrari to save $700? I know I wouldn’t!
