The good people at diet-blog.com are on a mission to inform us what a given amount of calories looks like in our plates. We are talking about understanding the relationship between portion size and calories. They have published a list of recipes which is a collection of dishes in the 300 to 400-calorie range. This is not just a collection of tasty meals. The editor has also included a photo of each meal with the recipe giving us a visual idea of what 300 calories look like. And you will be amazed at how much food it really is. In fact, you might realize for the first time that the amount of food that you are served for $10 at a restaurant is far more than you really need to feed yourself and feel full. Even better, you can head over to wisegeek.com for another visual list of foods that contain 200 calories.
